Hey all! So this week was pretty normal just going about our missionary lives! It was interesting, so that one day that I went out with the new Elder we found this lady that was like crying and asked us if we said prayers and we said yes and then she asked us to pray for her mom, anywho we thought she had a ton of potential and so we went to her house and started teaching her, btw she was wearing the biggest cross I have ever seen and I am pretty sure is giving her scoliosis anywho, everything was going really good, and then we found out that her mom is in a nut house because she killed like 20 people and this lady that we were talking to was being investigated also, by the police for murders and stuff... Haha we didn't know this until after we were in her house... Kind of freaky haha but a fun time. Yeah after that things just kind of went wack in the lesson. So that was good. What else can I tell you guys about this week Also we had a big combined party with the other ward here in Coímbra. It was a fun time we played a bunch of games with everyone and had a dude come and play guitar for us and had some great singers;) you will all see next week when I can get the videos to you guys!:) But yeah, another thing that was kind of sad was the sisters were supposed to have a baptism a few days ago but it got cancelled literally an hour before the baptism, the sisters were pretty sad so we all went and ate at mcdonalds to eat our sorrows away. It was pretty fun:) except for the baptism that fell through. That was good but then the day after that was my birthday! Wahoo!!! Haha I always thought that birthdays wouldn't be very big here or whatever, but it was awesome! The sisters surprised me with a birthday lunch after church and we all ate and it was awesome and then that night we ate a bishops and they all sang happy birthday to me in Portuguese, you guys will get all these pictures and stuff next week since I don´t have my camera with me right now. But yeah it was a good birthday!:) Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes in your hearts! It is all rolling really good here! Alrighty sorry this week is kind of boring but i hope you are all having a great summer and I promise there will be pictures next time!:) Eu vos amo! Tenham uma boa semana!:)

On my way to visit the gypsies
Hey everybody one more week eh? This week was pretty interesting. We had a lot less lessons than ever but we has a ton of new investigators that we found! It was awesome, one of them his name is Djayson, he is a Jehova Witness and we went to play some basketball with him, after that he went home to his mom and said I played bball with two Americans and one of them is like super good! I don't mean to gloat or anything but he was talking about me haha. SO that was fun, he is awesome! Also I had an opportunity this week to go on some slpits because my comp had to go to a meeting. I ended up with a new missionary that came in the transfer after me! It was kind of fun and I felt like a trainer for a while telling him to contact people and leaving him out to dry instead of the other way around! Haha it was awesome! Portuguese comes better and better every week! I am understanding a lot more but I still am no where near perfect yet! I had to give a talk in church on sunday for my first time and I was super nervous, but after the bishop got up and said Elder Eldredge is a living testimony that the gifts of God are still on the earth today. I really have recieved everything from God, there is no way I could know this much this fast without the help of the gift of toungues! It is real!!! This week too I have felt the Spirit testying through me more, it really is a great feeling walking out of a lesson or something knowing that you taught through the Spirit and that is so important! Also something cool that Happened this week, we contacted a bunch of homeless guys from Ukraine and invited them to church, sunday came and they didn't come which wasn't a huge surprise but then towards the end an old dirty guy walked in, he was another friends of the other guys. They told him about us and he wanted to go but he didn't know where the Chapel was. He said that he prayed to God to find the chruch and he found it!! I will update you more next week after we teach him a little bit this week:) Speaking of Ukraine I had no idea that a plane got shot down this week that is so crazy! Keep me updated on all this stuff!;) haha Anywho i don't have much time! BUt last thing! I ate OCTOPUS this week! It was actually pretty darn good but it definitely was scary when they brought out a big plate of octopus legs!! Anywho I love all you guys so much and I am so thankful for your prayers!:) Até proximo semana!:)

Segunda transferença!!
óla amigos e familia!! I hope you all had great weeks this week! Mine was definitelt interesting to say the least! First of all, I am sure you all know my first companion here died (finished his mission and went home) last transfer so I was bound to get a new comp, which meant that I was going to have to know the area and our investigators as well! It has been stressful because I am not the best at organizing things in the first place and along with still not knowing the area super well and still not speaking super good Portuguese it has been rough because at times when our appoinments fall thorugh and we have bad days I feel like it is my falt that the work here is not better. But yeah I am defintely learning a lot and I wouldn't learn it this fast any other way but I definitely am benefitting from all of your prayers!:) So this week we talked again to Lurdes, she still doesn't have the confidence in herself to quit smoking, we tried to pump her up and then we gave her the new challenge of 26th of this month, she accepted it and so we are going to work our hardest to keep her progressing towards her date. Also we started talking with a family from Africa this weekend. We went in and they were very hospitable and offered us some food and juice. So we go into the kitchen and there is just cooked pig leg on a stand right. The dude just starts cutting of strips of this pig leg for us to eat. It was actually pretty good, it kind of reminided me of jerky but different haha, it was pretty darn cool. They are awesome we are going to continue to talk with them for sure, His name is Cândido sick right? But anyways also yesterday we decided to walk down to these very humble houses that we saw the other day. We walk down there and as sson as we get down there like 50 kids come out of nowhere just saying gimme gimme gimme gimme. They wanted everything! So we had like 3 cards that we gave them and they raved over them! And then the parents come out and we kind of start talking to them and stuff but it was just the weirdest thing. Then after my comp tells me that theya re gypsies and that there are a ton in Portugal. Aparently it is a rule that they have to go to church for 6 months before they can get baptised because they will all just join to get money. It was weird but also kind of cool. I felt like I was in africa! Anywho I promise I will start writing down the things I want to include in my letter each week so they are focused and longer. But anywho I love you all tons!:) Hope you all have a great week this week and make sure to tell Ally happy birthday for me today!!.) Tenham uma boa semana todas!!!:) Eu vos amo!:)

New companion is a BYU soccer player! I miss celebrating the 4th of July!!
Hey family and friends! So this week was the last week of the transfer. Which is why I wasn't able to write yesterday because my comp was on a plane the whole day coming in from the Azores. So now I get a little time today! So yep my first transfer came and went! How crazy! I now am with Elder Phillips he is super cool and dedicated. I am nervous and stressed right now because I have to know the area really well and plan all of our days an stuff because Elder Phillips does not have a clue about the area. It has gone alright so far but it is still the beginning of the week so we will see what happens. Elder Phillips has complimented me a lot on my Portuguese he said that I speak super good and he can't believe how much I know. This is weird to me because with Elder Jacobson i felt like I knew nothing. But as soon as he left and I HAD to do it I realized how much I have actually learned! Like I was able to set up some good appointments for this week with members there. But I still know thatI need a lot of work and practice. i don't have a lot of time to write this week but something cool about elder phillips is that he plays for the BYU soccer team!!! Maybe after the mission he can get me in;) haha i am kidding but that is sweet ins't it? Anywho also I never realized how much I love the 4th of July until i was here and didn't celebrate it. All the missionaries here in my ward were from the US so we dressed up in red white and blue stuff so it was pretty awesome but still there weren't any celebrations or anything like that:( I truly love that day but I hope that all of you loved it and didn't take it for gratned because some of us iddin't have it!!!! Haha just kidding but yeah it was fun! Time is going by fast and I can't believe I am already in my second transfer! keep praying for me esecially in this time where my comp doesn't have and idea what is going on and I am still a greenie! Haha but honestly I am loving the mission. there is no other place in the world I would rather be right now even if I could. I am excited to work and super happy to be here! I love all of you guys and I promise I will write some cool stories next week! Everyone be good and be missionaries!
Wearing our patriotic attire!! :)
